Projections

It’s my day off, so of course I’m doing fantasy football stuff.

I added up all the espn projected 2014 season points for everyone’s team. I did it for the ideal line up (according to said projections). Now obviously this doesn’t take bye weeks into account. But here is the ESPN projected standings for PF this season. From best to worst.

  1. Paul (1,823 pts)
  2. Melton (1,794.6 pts)
  3. Stock (1,762.1 pts)
  4. Ventura (1,752.4 pts)
  5. Ian Amunrud (1,750.3 pts)
  6. Alex (1,743.7 pts)
  7. Garrett (1,706.1 pts)
  8. Chasen (1,701 pts)
  9. Ian Charbonnet (1,666.2 pts)
  10. Jon Cook (1,640.1 pts)

Everyone knows that projections are always off, but it is fun to see how the “fantasy experts” expect our teams to do PF-wise.
I’m also planning on counting up everyone’s ideal PF best team (also leaving out the bye week) to compare once the season is over.

Also won’t go into the points detail, but according to ESPN projections and only the starters for each position here are the position ranks.

And since I’m on a roll. Ranking according to average position ranking:

  1. Paul (3.29 average ranking)
  2. Melton (4.71)
  3. Ventura (4.71)
  4. Chasen (5.00)

Gives me something to read and debate with. Love it.

And looks like Cook (@jonathan) and I are going against the projection grain.

There’s only a 200 pt difference out of ~1700 average, which is ~12%. So I don’t put much faith in the ESPN projections.
